A Mino-yaki style mug that was commissioned to be produced by a pottery in Gifu prefecture, which is the production centre of traditional Japanese pottery.
This mug adopts a technique called “penetration” that creates a state of fine cracks in the glaze of the ceramic, due to the difference in expansion co-efficient between the base material and the glaze.
